Hi Everyone-

Next Saturday, January 16th, Adorable.io will be hosting 'Kids GET IT!'— a coding camp for children ages 11-14. The project introduces Information Technology (IT) careers to kids while getting them interaction with programming languages, starting with the interactive language— Scratch.

The program runs from 10am till 1pm, and needs volunteers who have some coding knowledge, but do not need to be programmers. Not familiar with Scratch? No problem. Take 30-45 minutes and visit the MIT Scratch website at: https://scratch.mit.edu  Adobe Flash is required, so if you're like me, and don't have it installed, use the Chrome web browser which has it built in.

VOLUNTEER
Help inspire a new generation of programmers, Volunteer!

SPREAD THE WORD
Can't volunteer this time? You can help spread the word to both potential volunteers and interested families. You can also add your name as a contact for the next program, so the folks at Adorable can contact you directly.

I'm willing to answer any questions I can about the event or put you in contact with Vannessa at Adorable.io (also copied on this email). I won't be at this event, but hope to help them out when possible.

Alnisa

P.S. Ben, Heather, Catherine, and Beth: Do you mind spreading the word to your groups to see if there is any interest. Thank you.
