Upgrading from Java 1.5 to 1.6

Hello,
For the next version of web4j, I would like to compile it using JDK 1.6, instead of JDK 1.5.
JDK 1.6 was released almost 7 years ago now.
The existing version 4.9.0 of web4j (compiled versus 1.5) would be still be made available for download, for those stuck on Java 1.5.
One reason for the move is that I would prefer to use this method in adding some more support for binary data, as opposed to older JDBC methods:

If you have any strong objections to the change to JDK 1.6, please let me know.
