hey i'm new. i hope someone can help me. I have a mac and installed web2py. When setting the password on the initial start server screen i get a pbkdf2_hmac error. I believe it is a version problem. I have the original 2.7 that came w my OSX, but also 3.6.3 IDLE install. Can I get web2py to point to the new ver? I think that might fix my problem. Thx!

Hi David,

this is a well known error if you use an ancient Python version, like the original version shipped with OSX. Be sure to run the source with a recent python interpreter, and not that one ;-)
