Problem with Ajax eval

Hi there, we've got an app which has been working happily for a few years...randomly it seems the the response from an ajax call is adding <html><head></head><body> tags to the jquery response so it's failing. Nothing has changed in the code.

Any ideas? This is what is showing in the console:

<html><head></head><body>$(".form-container").hide();$(".back-container").hide();$(".confirm-review").show();window.scrollTo(0, 0);</body></html>

PS - it's running on PythonAnywhere in case that matters!
