Let me start by saying that I'm a total novice when it comes to both web2py and janrain. I've inherited a web2py application and have been tasked with setting up login such that the user can use either the existing login authorization method or facebook or google via janrain.

with some success. However, the customer wants to use a custom UI instead of the janrain widget.
Since this is all sort of magic for me, it is not clear to me what changes need to be made for that to happen.
Any pointers will be appreciated.

You simply can't. The point of janrain is that you delegate authentication to them so they deal with credentials, not you.

According to janrain, the web2py built in code for using janrain uses a deprecated method of displaying their login widget.
Has anyone been able to recently integrate janrain in a web2py application? If so, how.

Thanks

In gluon/contrib/login_methods/ we have both janrain_account.py (new) and rpx_account.py (old). New apps should old janrain_ccount.
