Markmin and spell-checking

Has anyone used any tool for automated spell-checking with long markmin docs like those of the web2py manual?
I'm using the Libre Office Writer corrector, but when I save the changes the files do not render correctly, so I guess Writer is using an incompatible file format. Any idea on how to deal with this?

I think I found the problem. Writer inserts a "BOM prologue" when importing text files and it is being saved with the files when I apply the changes. This prevents the markmin render to add the chapter contents list correctly, but I belive the rest of the document is not corrupted so I can keep using the tool, as long as I manually remove those characters at the beginning of the modified files. The problem seems to be the same as detailed here:
