Hi,
if you know the problem of writing plug-ins for multiple applications,
then this is for you. The Plugin Manager allows you to copy and
symlink plug-ins so that if you e.g. develop a comments plug-in you
can use it in two applications at the same time while continuing to
develop just one plug-in.

But you have to be careful! Files are copied and deleted. I am not
responsible for damages. Best thing is you copy your web2py folder and
try it in a save environment first.

This is the first version, it is very functional and the interface is,
to say the least, ugly, but it does what I want.

I would be happy to create an open source project if somebody is
interested in improving the PluginManager with me (e.g. interface to
PluginCentral, nice UI, better filename matching, ...). If you need
support (e.g. what does the overwrite checkbox next to manage do o_O)
write here, I will respond asap.

This is a very good idea, although by using symlink can I assume this
is unix only?

yes unix/linux/osx(most likely) only,
but if web2py would support the windows link files i could improve the
app :)

for now i only tested it on ubuntu 9.10, test on other systems would
be nice
