Resizing images on upload

Hello!

I would like to ask how I can resize an image on upload and keep the aspect/ratio or avoid losing too much quality.

If someone has a piece of code to share with me I will appreciate it a lot!

I have images of 4496 × 3000 of 4 Mb and they really slow down the load... I'm looking a way to improve this by doing a resize.
