Hello.
After several tests and investigations, we believe that the Google Adsense CMP is causing bad INP values on our site when accessed via Android devices.

Through the DebugBear platform we can see the following information:

fc cmp.png

We have several situations where the same thing is happening.

Any way of resolving this situation?

Thank you.

Hi Hugo, thanks for the feedback.
CMPs have been a focus for us recently (see this CrUX announcement yesterday, and this blog post), as unfortunately there is little website owners can do in these cases other and the fixes need to be with the CMP themselves.
We don't have anything to share on Google Adsense CMP yet, but in the meantime would suggest you concentrate on other INP issues that are more under your control

Hello,

I have removed all Adsense and Admanager stuff to test some website INP scores - all this site  metrics were to green before INP switch in GSC.

I cant see the result in GSC for the moment. But, datas collected with https://github.com/GoogleChrome/web-vitals are far better, far below 200 ms when some are returned.

I dont know for the moment which of Adsense CMP, or Adsense/Admanager are the source of bad INP metrics.

As visitors comes from different origin, mainly Europe, but a good part in Africa, I'm not sure that it is the Adsense CMP. Is some Adsense CMP displayed in Africa ?

Thanks,

Eric

Hi Eric, nice to meet you.

I am not sure if the issue you are reporting is similar to the one originally posted by Hugo in this thread.

It's definitely possible that by removing some Third Parties script INP could improve (the impact depends a lot on many factors).

The CMP itself may not be the problem but only a part of the entire puzzle, the CMP Button UI Click Interaction may lead to high INP if the CMP in question is not yielding and JS Long Tasks would be executed, sometimes the majority of this Browser Main Thread blocking time is caused by 3Ps different from the CMP itself.

I suggest running some traces to better understand what's going on your site case to better identify root causes.

About your last question, I am not sure I understood your use case of the visitor from Africa visiting the EU site, can you please better elaborate your case?

Regards
Gilberto
