We’ve been working hard to improve the performance of our site, https://617bostonmovers.com, by following the recommendations from Google Webmaster and various speed optimization resources. Our goal is to ensure a smooth, fast experience for mobile users, as we know how critical load times are for user experience and SEO.

However, we’re running into an issue where the Google PageSpeed Insights score for mobile remains very low, despite our optimization efforts. We’ve double-checked our configurations, applied speed enhancements, and still aren’t seeing an improvement in the mobile score. Additionally, we’re sometimes unable to retrieve a complete mobile speed report on the PageSpeed Insights tool, which limits our ability to make targeted adjustments.

Could you provide any insight on why this might be happening, or suggest steps we could take to improve our mobile speed score? Access to a full and accurate mobile speed report would be crucial for our ongoing optimizations.

Here’s the speed test link we’re using: https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights/

And here’s a recent test result for reference:

Thank you for your support!

As discussed on the CrUX group your site seems VERY JavaScript heavy so suggest you look into your plugins to see if they are all necessary and to try to identify which one(s) is/are causing so much JavaScript to be added.

Thank you for pointing this out! I had a feeling that JavaScript might be contributing heavily to the performance issues, especially with the high TBT on my site. I’ve already tried optimizing with plugins like WP Rocket, but it seems like the root cause might go deeper into the plugins themselves.

I’ll definitely review all the active plugins on my site to determine if any unnecessary ones can be removed. Are there specific tools or methods you recommend for identifying which plugins are adding excessive JavaScript? I’ve used browser developer tools to analyze scripts, but pinpointing the exact source has been tricky.

Any further advice would be greatly appreciated!

One of the best ways would be to remove plugins and test the impact. You can rerun Lighthouse and see the impact. For important plugins that would cause breakage, that should of course be done on a staging site rather than production.

However, do remember that the testing tools (and TBT) are just indicators of potential problems. The best way to understand if this is a real issue is to measure Core Web Vitals in the field. Unfortunately it does not look like you have Real User CrUX data when I look at PageSpeed Insights so you can't see a quick summary and would need to collect this yourself to understand that.
