Caution: Backup your data - HOW TO

Hi all,

I just wanted to air a pre-emptive word of caution. iGoogle is
continuously going through change as the good folk at Google continue
to add new features. Occasionally this impacts my gadgets. I always
make every effort to adapt the gadget to cater for these changes but I
would hate a user to lose any data.

So I would urge you to use Web Stickies as you always have but
periodically back up date you consider to be important. You can do
this in a number of ways.


1) Use the hidden data dump feature: Add a new note (or use an
existing one) and, whilst holding CRTL + SHIFT, click the close button
on the note. This will dump all note data out. You can then copy paste
all of it or do File->save as.

2) Copy the note data from individual notes

3) A simple screenshot of your notes - it's better than nothing.

Hopefully it will never happen that you will lose data - but if the
worst does happen you should be safe.
