I really liked this little app, and used as many as 8 simultaneous
instances on my google ig pages. I was using it to keep track of
everything. Then I suddenly find "ad stickies" amongst my own
stickies: _extremely lame_ and _profoundly uncool_. I feel like my
trust was violated, too, in that there was no fair warning in the
description. I had really come to rely on webstickies, but I find
unwanted advertising posing in the same form as my own notes, well,
revolting. Congrats on a great little app, please don't milk me for $,
or at least warn me in advance.

Hi I'm glad you like them and thanks for getting in touch! In short,
you can turn the adverts off mate - so quit your rant ;)

"Developing and maintaining this gadget take quite a bit of time. If
you'd like to show me support you can choose to tolerate these ads :)
An advert is displayed just once per day every n days where n is
governed by how many notes you use. You can of course turn off these
adverts in the gadget settings."

The setting in particular is "Support Bonstio". "No problem" will
display ads. "No way" will not.

THe frequency with which ads are displayed is dependent upon how many
notes you use. I have tried to be fair about this as you can see and
no other ad support gadget which I know of has the ability to disable
ads. I hate ads too!

Phew! What a relief. Still, the way you have it set up requires
folks to do a bit of research to figure it out--ie, get to your FAQs.
Maybe I'm just weird about my aversion to unwanted ads, but what if
you're losing loads of users, who unlike me, don't speak up, (or
figure out how to turn them off)? One bit that drove me bonkers was
the ad not having the standard controls, or even a "kill" button.
Another suggested fix: a link on the ad note to the relevant settings,
or a more obviously titled pull-down menu option in the settings (like
"Ad settings"). Again, it's a sweet app, and deserves to sweep the
web.

One more thing: keyboard shortcuts???

:D

I suppose you are right I could have done with making it a little more
obvious how to turn them off. But they appear only once a day every n
days which is pretty infrequent. It's not like I'm really swamping you
with ads like on every page load like so many gadgets have gone for. I
hate ads too which is way I tried to tie their display frequency with
note usage plus gave the option to turn them off. Perhaps I'll have a
minimessage displayed explaining they are easy to disable. Mind you,
if you liked the gadget as much as you say you do then you should
really leave them on and support me ;) *hopes*

Keyboard shortcuts! Good call! Thanks. I'll look into that for the
next release.

Do me a favour and spread the word, aquafino!
