Base system Apache 2 / PHP 5 / Suse 11.1 / Joomla 1.5.14

I loaded web-optimizer for the first time last night (on my test
server) and after a few tries, lots of head scratching and becoming
very confused, eventually got it all working (I think!).

The major issue I had was not understanding the configuration that I
needed on the Apache2 / PHP5 side.

Example. I did have mod_deflate inialized and hooked into Apache but
it did not seem to be used. I eventually included the IfModule stuff
in .htaccess (it seemed to be totally ignored when I added to
virtserver.conf file) and now it seemed to work but what I do not know
is if I now have a clash between your entries and my entries. I never
could set the mod_deflate option in the web-optimizer .htaccess
settings page.

It was also confusing as to what I needed to add / do for minifying
Javascript / CSS (and I'm not 100% certain that I have an optimized
solution).

I'm no expert in any of this and I think that a page describing the
pre-requisites needed and some setup for these modules to work
optimally with web-optimizer would help. Maybe even a quick check
during installation that lets the person know that web-optimizer has /
has not located key modules that it needs.

All that said, I do have a test site and if you ever need to "idiot
test" I'd be happy to do this for you.

Great Project that seems to be heading in all the right directions.

Nigel.

thank you very much for your time consumed for Web Optimizer
installation.

Please can you contact me directly? (skype: sun-ny-bear, icq
138109649, e-mail ni...@webo.name) to resolve the following issues:
1. mod_deflate isn't working (I think there are an issue with web
server or a Web Optimizer bug, anyway this should be checked).
2. Web Optimizer already checks key modules during installtion (and
enables only avalable ones). We need to clear this issue -- what do
you mean?
3. I didn't understand passage about JavaScript / CSS minify. Anyway
your thoughts as end-user wishes will be greatly appreciated.
