The current
World English Bible
status is:
Genesis - Ruth, Esther - Song of Solomon, Hosea - Malachi, and
the New Testament are essentially done, give or take possible
responses to typo reports, comments from readers that are deemed to
have merit, and edits that might arise out of the close checking
involved in audio recording.
The current primary editing focus is on Isaiah.
The World English Bible companion Apocrypha is also being worked on
in parallel, although it is at an earlier stage of development.
Tobit, Judith, Greek Additions to Esther, Wisdom of Solomon, Wisdom
of Jesus the son of SIRACH (Ecclesiasticus), Baruch, Letter of
Jeremiah, 1 Esdras, and 2 Esdras are in the automated first draft
stage, based on the
Revised
Version Apocrypha.
3 Maccabees and 4 Maccabees are in the automated first draft stage,
based on the
Brenton
Septuagint.
Prayer of Azariah, Susanna, Bel and the Dragon, 1 Maccabees, 2
Maccabees, and Prayer of Manassas are currently filled with
place-holder texts that are copies of the
LXX2012, which is an
automated update of the Brenton Septuagint. They will be replaced
with RV-based texts as typing from paper editions continues, and
before any manual editing.
Psalm 151 is essentially done, give or take responses to comments
and the outcome of the debate on "supernumerary".
The World English Bible companion
Glossary has now been
integrated into the
WEB and
WEBBE new HTML format.
Although
WorldEnglishBible.org
has long been an alias for
eBible.org,
the two web sites are starting to move in different directions.
WorldEnglishBible.org will focus primarily on the World English
Bible, including the British Edition and the Messianic Edition.
Although the World English Bible will continue to have a place of
honor at eBible.org, the site itself will expand to include hundreds
of other Bible translations, with an emphasis on freely
distributable Bible translations in minority languages and selected
translations freely distributable translations in majority
languages.
