It turns out that maintaining a web and email server from the opposite
side of the planet, using a very expensive and slow connection is hard.
The eBible.org/WorldEnglishBible.org/WEBible.org/HNVBible.org machine
went down again, hard. It took several days to repair it by remote
control. Some of the mailing lists are still not up. To reduce the
hassles if that happens again, we are phasing out the Mailman mailing
lists on that machine, and moving to Google Groups mailing lists. This
group is being moved to the web-...@googlegroups.com mailing list.
Rather than just subscribe you all to that list, I'm asking you to do it
yourself. Just go to http://groups.google.com/group/web-news and sign
yourself up. If you are interested in volunteering, in finding out about
the status of the translation, etc., that is where I'll ask for
volunteers for specific tasks and make announcements. By having you move
yourselves, I am avoiding bothering anyone with email who is no longer
very interested in this project.
As for progress on the World English Bible translation, it seems that I
am the one on the critical path who is slowing things down. Please pray
that we would come up with a better way of moving forward that is wise
and in no way compromises the integrity of God's Word or the principles
of this project.
Thank you.
Michael
