I wand to be able to let the user save the state, shut down the
browser and then reopen the page and submit the previously entered
data.
how can that be accomplished?
Thanks,
D.

Playing with the MHT's I have come to realize that when you hit
submit, they will actually post the data back to the live server.
This does not solve the issue of saving the state until they can
click
send. Currently, it will not save the current state, but I wonder if
re-saving it after filling it out but before closing it might work...
I'm going to see if theres a common pattern or known solution to an
issue like this... One possible solution is Google Gears. I'll let
you know.

No, if its not in the Value="{value}" markup of the form elements,
its
not available after you save and reopen it. Theres a solution but I
don't know it yet.

The above is a dialog I was having with myself on my project
tracker... It outlines the basic premise of what I want o to
accomplish.
Does anyone have experience with this subject matter or know where I
can read up on it?
Appreciate you help!

this is the closest reference I can find.
My goal is to write out an MHT and distribute it for offline use.
Have them fill it in and then come back later and upload it. There
needs to be an intermediate save step. I know the mechanics of
walking a form and collecting its' elements values, but how would I
persist and then retrieve those values?
Cookies?
If I open a page from a local MHT file, does it have that special
local privileged user status which would allow use of the FSO? I'm
not really a fan of this because it's tied to one flavor of browsers.
How can I reliably store a significant amount of data (more than 3K,
maybe lots more) from a local MHT file so it can be later opened as
that original MHT but now displaying the saved content from the
offline session, to ultimately effect the submit of the information
back to the original sever that the MHT was created from.
I know an MHT will submit what I tell it to, to the actual server,
but
the offline saving of state has me stalled.
Thx,
D.
