Good morning! It seems balcony solar just can’t be stopped. Illinois is now the latest state advancing legislation to legalize these plug-and-play clean-energy tools, which could help households offset their rising power bills, Kari Lydersen reports.

 

North Carolina is meanwhile making progress on another critical energy issue: data centers. Top utility Duke Energy has agreed to consider a “clean transition tariff” that could keep data centers from driving up carbon emissions and saddling residents with unnecessary energy costs. Elizabeth Ouzts has the details on the promising — but still unfinalized — strategy.
