Good Morning,
It is a chilly morning to start with patchy frost possible in some places as temperatures dip into the 30's in addition, there may be some patchy fog around due to the clear sky and light wind and highly saturated soils in Central Indiana. Otherwise, we are
expecting a pretty good dose of sun after some early morning cloud cover and high temperatures approaching 60° this afternoon Which will be about 10° below average for this time of May. For many areas it will be a quiet evening, but we will also be watching
radar later this afternoon and evening for a zone of showers and gusty thunderstorms. Hi-res modeling continues to suggest this zone will be near and north of the I-70/74 corridors between 4 PM and 4 AM. We don’t anticipate the storms being severe, but the
potential of some penny sized hail and gusty wind will be possible in stronger cells. You should monitor radar closely in those areas and be prepared to get indoors if you hear thunder. Plenty of dry time Friday, but again we'll be on radar watch with the
anticipation of a broader zone of rain and thunderstorms developing in the afternoon with outdoor evening impacts. Highs reach the 60's prior to this batch of unsettled weather. We still expect this wave of rain and storms to depart before sunrise on Saturday.
