First time the really hot air has affected the tip of Cornwall this year, the air coming down the spine of the peninsula. Also an almost complete lack of sea breezes.
Lands End reached 26.7C yesterday, before a very gentle NW sea breeze knocked it back to 23C around 17:30.

Newlyn Green(?) 11:00. Gentle breeze off the sea.
Currently 26.7C at my station, despite a gentle breeze off the sea. Warmest day of the year so far. 28C near the north coast at Camborne, 29.1C near Lands End! Back very close to August 2022 heatwave levels where the winds not onshore. My temperature record (records start 1991) 30.3C on 14th August 2022.
