There's been talk eg as recently as on last night's Countryfile programme that October 2025 saw drier than average rainfall in the UK. However Met Office charts show 121.2 mm and I gather that the long-term average is 123.2 mm. A 'dry' October is stretching it somewhat. I anticipate a Met Office press release referring to average rainfall for the UK.

So rather dry.

It turns out that the 99 % of average UK rainfall includes a wet month in Northern Ireland and a rather dry one in large parts of England and Wales. Countryfile may have inadvertently been a bit England-centric in their comments.
