Great video from Sennen this morning. People at the top of the 180' cliff give scale.

Gusts widely >70mph, even away from the immediate north coast. E.g 75mph at Illogan.

Newquay airport up to 74mph

Love the far west of Cornwall when the sea's like this. Inspiring stuff. All very serene down here along the south coast. How different to that one called Bertram a couple of weeks ago when the winds were coming from the opposite direction and hence, a lot stronger.

Maximum gust today of 42 mph. Nothing to write home about despite the Amber warning which was strangely given for here.

Penzance is relatively sheltered, but still a F7-8. Recent gust to 58mph. John Chappell's site & St Ives have seen gusts >80mph. F10 near Lands End. The wind's still increasing.

Nice video of Portreath

On a personal level I'm gutted I couldn't get out to the north coast today. It's a different world on the sheltered south coast, something warnings are to general to show. The north coast certainly warranted an orange warning, in order to encourage people to take a peak!
