Overall very warm, 2nd warmest month on record after 19.4C in August 1995. Also sunny (based on Camborne) & dry. It was the 10th consecutive dry month.
There was an unprecendented hot spell. On the 11th my all time temperature record fell despite a generally onshore wind. It reached 29.8C, beating the previous record of 29.6C on 17th July 2006. It
was >30C in much of Cornwall, hotter here in 'Penwith' than in
the July 2022 heatwave. John Chappell's site near Land's End
reached 32.0C @ 14:24 a new record despite a F3-4 breeze.
On the 14th August there was no sea breeze whatsoever in Penzance. A very light onshore SE wind was replaced by a
F1-2 WNW around noon, but this was then killed by the sea breeze effect. The
temperature was around 28C at noon, jumping quite quickly to 30C by 12:45
peaking at 30.3C at 15:30.
Up until this year I had only ever (since 1991) recorded
>28C on 10 occasions. The 11th occasion came in July this year, just the 1
day. The 14th August was the 5th consecutive day
>28C and 2 of those broke the previous temperature record.
The 15th August saw
a minimum of 19.7C, my warmest night
on record beating 19.6C on 5th August 2003.

Warm, dry & Sunny. My June-July solar panel output being a new 3 month record. This despite them now being 12 years old, and power output falling somewhat as they got a bit too hot during the August heatwave.
