There is much talk about thundery activity in the forecasts.
GFS seems to have the main activity to the south of UK over France.
Midnight Fri through Sat might give some over the Southwest, beefing up and arriving further east for Cup Final day.

It turned out to be more vicious in terms of a remarkable lightning show over much of Southwest.
The release of CAPE was rapid after 1100 BST.
Not forecast very well as regards timing and location.
It was an unusual situation for here . We usually watch TS on the radar come out of France and gradually die before reaching the South coast here.
This trough just kicked off in spectacular fashion mid-Channel with continuous lightning for a couple of hours, all well aloft from Ac castellanus, meaning just muffled thunder.
One brief downpour mixed with hail 0100 BST.

A few just-about-audible rumbles of thunder here and a whole 0.1 mm rain at 8.15 to 8.20 a.m. BST.
