Line of thunderstorms now developing from East Anglia through London (NE - SW) causing flooding on many roads within minutes.

Like a broken record, I go to the TfL jamcams - videos you can view day or night. A3 Kingston by-pass looking slow and submerged in places right now (later - just be guided by the radar!).

Superb for highlighting rain variations within a few hundred metres.

Fairly frequent thunder and some lightning here now.

Not that I want to bee flooded, but I'm beginning to forget what thunder is!

Being at the tip of Cornwall we generally miss the home grown north coast sea breeze variety, so we rather really on importing them from France, and they've missed us all Summer so far. I might have to wait for an Autumn mP to allow for the warm sea to produce some convection, even if they are the 2 or 3 flash variety. The sea certainly is warm now,

23C and sunny today, so still very warm (for west Cornwall) down here.

Precipitable water content in the vicinity of the rainband is predicted to be upto ~35mm. High resolution WRF is coming up with some alarming numbers

Plenty of distant lightning here on Thurs into Friday night. The odd rumble of thunder and 4.6 mm rain.

I klike the Abbey Rd live cam . Peeing it down atm.
