It's been sunny in Penzance since 11am, and the temperature has risen to 18C. I won't give a precise figure, as I no longer have a sheathed maximum thermometer in a full size screen, but a digital one in a small, fan assisted screen, so the 18.8C it's currently reading may be a bit high - though there is a breeze.
Only 13C in mist on the north coast, but with the very humid air descending in a gentle WNW breeze off the moors, it's a perfect direction for a foehn effect & warmth in Penzance.
My highest ever March temperaure is 18.9C on 23/03/2012, so this is close. No don't helped by the well above normal SST.

Does present the forecasters with an issue, though the do tend to stick 12C & 13C over Cornwall and 16C over Exeter, when it tends to vary by more over <10 miles.
Out of the mist E visibilty, the Lizard point is sharp from Penzance. Unfortunately the recording stations are all near the north coast or have there heads in the cloud (Culdrose), so this is highly misleading.
As you can see, the whole of Mount's Bay is sunny. - from Penzance prom.
Interesting, these conditions.
