Sunny until early afternoon, then frontal cloud thickened rapidly.  Steady snowfall from about 15.30 to 18.00 local time, then damp and drizzly, with a short period of rain mid-evening.  About 4 cm lying snow.  Cold again: near freezing in the snow but temperature rising slowly now, with a thaw.  Moderate SSE to S wind, fresh at times around midday.
