Only 3 days with any measurable rain since 21st September, but a lot of cloud of late. Not today, unbroken sunshine!

It managed to top 16C yesterday, despite the cloud, currently  (noon)16.4C today. The above normal SSTs and onshore breeze are helping, gives a 'warm' (relatively speaking) start.

Coffee out near Marazion at the wonderful Hoxton Special. No kite or wind surfers out, not quite windy enough.

Shame about the forecast, still we look like getting our rain mainl yin the early hours of Sunday.

Yesterday I was on a hill top behind St Ives, and could see Lundy, (80 miles).  I didn't expect the visibility to be that good. Looked hazier over the land where the thicker c;loud was lingering.

There's a lot to be said for being on the coast at this time of year, none of that lingering inland fog. Coastal fog is often mentioned on forecasts, but is typically limited to prone spots, most frequently on cliff tops. During my few years in Wootton Bassett (it wasn't Royal until I left) I recorded considerably more days with fog at 9am, than here in Penzance, where it's actually quite rare.

Now just over 17C. About the warmest spot in the UK, I notice Plymouth & Scilly are also 17C. Glorious day, if a bit breezy.

Virtually no Atlantic swell at the moment.
