I've been meaning to get round to this for a number of years but I can now finally see how I can overlay weather radar onto satellite images. It was a little bit tricky getting the radar and satellite layers to synch with the map but I think I've managed it. And there's Devon in that clear slot, although the temperature has now fallen back to 14.4°C.

Bruce, a maximum here of 15.7°C making it one of the cooler days of this month. But 7.5 hours of lovely sunshine helped to warm things up a bit!

Monthly sunshine total now at 116 hours.

I noticed what could be the last of the swallows and house martins heading SE today. I suspect we won't be seeing them again until late March next year.

Here in SW Devon not particularly sunny, just occasional glimpse of sun.

You're in the wrong bit of Devon!

As Nick said, there were 7.5 hours of sun at least today in east Devon, not that you would believe it listening to David Braine's forecast. I moan a lot about SE centric forecasting, but it doesn't matter where you put the forecaster, and he works in Plymouth and I think lives in Cornwall, unless there's a TV crew out shooting video in other parts of the SW such as Devon, west Dorset and west Somerset to act as a reminder to him, he's annoyingly Plymouth centric.

It was quite warm in the corner of our garden - we had a max of 16.3°C (1.8°C higher than the airport) and were probably the warmest place in the country. But here are the anomalies for today's maximum temperatures which as you say show a cold day in most other places!

It's an utterly glorious Autumn day today. I've been on the road and seen some light rain in the Derby area and overcast skies in Bristol, but this is a sparkling day. Pity I'm stuck in writing a report!

Actually Bruce, I had a couple of days away in west Cornwall.
Splendid weather, good visibility from Pendennis Castle and St Michaels Mount.
However, first thing this morning was cloudy and a few spots of rain.
Still, we enjoyed the hundreds of colours of the National Dahlia Collection outside Penzance.
As we drove east the sun was out by the time we passed Redruth.
