Summary for July 2022

An interesting month. Warmer and a little sunnier than average and very dry. Warmest July since 2021 (19.0°C); sunniest since 2021 (267.7 hours), driest on record beating July 2016 (6.6 mm). Plenty of unusually cool nights, especially the first half of the month. But then the warmest 'high minimum' in my record on the 19th with 24.2°C, easily beating the previous high minimum of 19.2°C on the 1st July 2015. The temperature actually peaked at nearly 28°C just after midnight, rising from 25°C around 10pm. The warmest day with 31.3°C on the 18th narrowly missed out being my warmest temperature recorded by just 0.1°C (31.4°C, 20th July 2021). A cloudy morning was responsible!
