Rapidly developing heavy showers.

There have been showers that have developed from nothing to  a downpour in just a few minutes in the last 12 hours.

In Penzance I was surprised at a brief downpour around 8:45pm yesterday. Looking at the radar it developed from virtually nothing in around 10-15 minutes. It's first appearance being a little blue/green on the moors 3 or 4 miles behind Penzance. 10 minutes later there was a white bit right over Penzance.

Just been a thunderstorm on Scilly, which developed in a similar quick fashion.
