No rain, pretty much dawn-to-dimpsey sunshine from the start and hot at times too. The 13th saw the highest June temperature in my record with a maximum of 31.6°C. Yesterday (14th) saw the lowest relative humidity in my record with 24%.

Halfway through stats:
1st - 15th June.
Mean minimum = 11.5°C
Mean maximum = 25.1°C
Mean = 18.3°C
Rain = 0.0 mm
Sunshine = 187 hours.

Tomorrow could pass 200 hours of sunshine and we're only just over halfway through the month! That is really remarkable.

It's been rather boring here with only 1.4 mm of rain in the last 35 days.
We missed the thunderstorms others had.

Officially according to Met Office definition (3 successive days above 25C) we have not had a heatwave here.
Mon 12th 24.5C
Tues 13th 25.4C
Wed 14th 24.6C
Thurs 15th 26.4C

Leonard, midly amused by the Met Office's definition of a heatwave for the SW, that means we can get two or three heatwaves every month from June to September.

Today will be the 6th consecutive day of the 'heatwave':
11th 27.8°C
12th 25.9°C
13th 31.6°C
14th 29.7°C
15th 28.0°C

Distinct lack of sea breezes this summer so far and if they do occur they're weak and don't arrive until early/mid afternoon. Normally here before midday. I noted that on the BBC's long range weather forecast yesterday, the south coast from Exmouth to Weymouth was shown to get no rain at all in their forecast for the next week. That would be interesting, now on day 36 of no rain.

Off-shore sea surface temperature nearing 20°C in Lyme Bay yesterday. All feeling rather lovely, long may it continue.

There was a complete lack of a sea breeze here on Wednesday, despite unbroken sunshine. The temperature reached 20C at the Penzance buoy in glassy conditions. There were pools of water which were positively tepid off the battery rocks, where you had to queue for the steps to get out of the water.

The true SST out of the warm pools seems to be around 17C which is more typical of mid/late July. Frontal cloud here today holding temperature to near 20C currently.

Since the 9th May we've had 3 raindays.
8/6 0.4mm ending my record 29 days without rain.
9/6 11.5mm in a downpour in the early hours
10/6 0.4mm

Jubilee Pool  just before opening yesterday morning.
