One glider pilot at Aboyne took off at 0545 BST.
When I was gliding at Aboyne in the 1980s, I had plans to fly through the night in mid-summer. Perfectly possible except for the bureaucratic hurdles: legality, insurance, etc. The idea never came off. But it has been done in the Sierra Nevada in the USA.
