I'd just like to point out that there is no such place as South Farnborough, or North Farnborough for that matter.  Only Farnborough.

It must have some kind of history behind it, because although there might be no such place as either South or North Farnborough, there are a number of schools that still use both names.

Perhaps but calling a weather station 'South Farnborugh' implies there is either another weather station in Farnborough or an actual place called South Farnborough and neither are true.

It really should be renamed 'Farnborough' or 'Farnborough Airport'.

That's how it was named in the WMO station list that I use I can easily edit that.

I've just remembered that there's also a Farnborough North Railway station on the Gatwick line.

That's because there are 2 stations in Farnborough.  Farnborough and Farnborough North (no South!)
