Estimated 18-06 totals in good agreement with the warnings 10-15 mm, although SE of the Isle of Wight to the Wash missed out on much of it.

Yes I noticed that - perhaps you'll get clobbered by a thunderstorm later!

The warning area has shrunk so I'm no longer inside it.  I live in a thunderstorm desert anyway.

The South East missed a lot of the heavy rain in the unsettled summers of the late 2000s. Fine summers returned from 2013 onwards - this summer we're back to missing out on the heavy rain further north-west.  I went to bed confident of the band of rain from Devon to Normandy coming this way.   Mind you, if Brian only had 3mm, I'm more pleased with my 3.9.  Monthly total all of 4.4mm!   Too breezy to get much from showers later I'd have thought.

I should write stuff like that more often, just had the heaviest rain I've ever recorded at 160mm/hr peak.  Total from the shower 7.6mm.  I only heard 3 faint rumbles in the distance so not very electric.  Gutters are still recovering.

You posted that quickly, Brian.  Thank goodness I am no longer a weather forecaster!  Let's call it the Wey valley storm which is now visiting London just in time for the peak of the Friday afternoon 'getaway' (horrible word).  Deluging here, no need to water the patio plants tonight!   Gutters are overflowing everywhere, but as long as my one dodgy fence-post survives the weekend I'll be happy.

I was right about you getting clobbered after all
