The Plymouth area's been a fair bit wetter than west Cornwall, I believe the same was true in June. WE kept missing the pulses of rain which moved up from the south.
July Rainfall
Camborne 73.6mm
Penzance 79.9mm (95%)
June in Penzance 37.2mm (53%)
Muggy old day today.

No, June was dry here in Wembury.
27.5 mm (40% of average).
But as you say, during July we were caught by bands of rain pushing up from the south.
The total of 130 mm was remarkable.
Several days we had well over 10 mm.

June was very dry here too Len with just 11 mm, equalling June 2023.
My driest June was in 2018 when I recorded no measureable rainfall. The only entire month for me to do so though many have come close, spoilt by 1 or 2 days.
First rain for a while last night with 5.6 mm in one very short but very sharp downfall.
