It's hard to believe that the GFS is forecasting a return to the anticyclonic easterly conditions of this week, after a cyclonic interlude ushered in by low Emma over the next few days.
This block might be stubborn to shift.

The 12Z ECMWF operational run would certainly support your last sentence.

Seems to have changed a bit now.
