As the mizzle cleared eastwards yesterday evening, the temperature dropped back to 2.9C under clear skies & near calm conditions.

It was calm @ 08:30 today, the temperature 4C. Then a S breeze quite quickly set in, and by 9:15 it had hit 10C! Surfaces which were dry quickly became wet, even where in the rising sun, outside of windows steamed up.

Doesn't always need the passage of a well defined front to give a rapid temperature. Onset of a breeze off the sea at this time of year can bring quite a dramatic change.

Lovely morning for a walk. The Mount from Chapel Rock, Marazion about 10:30 sm1.jpg

Temperature now (noon) 11.4C.

I lived in Pembrokeshire (Haverfordwest) for 5 years late 80s/early 90s, and I remember what you describe about wet surfaces happening there.  Typically at the end of a cold spell, when the high was moving away and S-SW winds started to pick up.  Surfaces used to go from dry/icy to sopping wet in a matter of a few hours.  Quite often (but not always) accompanied by very low cloud and fog.

Here in NE Scotland, the temperature is rising quite slowly - exactly as predicted.  No road flooding - yet!
