I never understand the different thresholds in different parts of the UK.  I realise that 25C in coastal Cornwall is probably about as common as 30C in much of London, but that isn't the point surely? It's when the high temperature causes significant health issues.  Yet the heatwave temperature for Cornwall (and Devon, Wales, N England & Scotland) is a perfectly pleasant 25C.

Having been in London at 30C, and in Cornwall at 30C (2022), I would say 30C in Cornwall is more bearable. You can at least jump in cold water, or for those not so inclined sit in the shade, in a sea breeze, next to the high tide line. There's nearly always some breeze. London is stifling and the only place to cool is in an air conditioned greenhouse gas emitting block.
