It was a first for Wembury to get 30C in May.
In fact 30C has only been reached 11 times since 1986.
It was a coincidence that the May issue of the Weather mag had an article on May heatwaves. It compared one in May 1944 with one in May 2024.
32C was reached in a number of places in May 1944.
