Wind not too bad but very poor sea conditions

After heavy rain this morning just the odd drizzly shower and bursts of sunshine this afternoon. Wind not too bad, even Lands End didn't reach 50mph.

Skybus flights to Scilly have resumed after being fogbound this morning, but the Scillonian Ferry has been cancelled. Sea conditions are very poor. It's a changeover day, so many on Scilly with no accommodation for tonight. This on the Isles of Scilly Noticeboard facebook page

We are looking at a situation where we may have to find quite a lot of accommodation for stranded passengers tonight. If you can help in any way please contact us at the Tourist Information Centre.

To make matter worse, there's a chance that the Scillonian won't be able to sail tomorrow, when it would normally do 2 crossings. (Max load per trip about 550 passengers). 

Always chaos in poor weather this time of year.  

Still, much quieter weather after tomorrow, at least for Scilly.
