Yes, the weather's looking generally warm & settled for some time.

I keep hearing taxis are about to be cut, surely they are needed now bus services have been slashed? I'm sure there's a plan.

Penzance (Muggy morning with light winds & sunny spells.)

I've heard somewhat different predictions - up to month's end that is. Becoming very warm and humid in most of England Sunday night into Wednesday - with a possibility that Tuesday will be hot in the south east and East Anglia with any prolonged sunshine. Thereafter rain and perhaps storms sweeping in from the west followed by low pressure sitting nearby and plenty of showers around with sunshine too (showers not necessarily focused on the Glastonbury area). And - my own prediction - June to be a little cooler than (record breaking) May was. Which will be a first in Met Office records since 1884.

But I've just become aware that the forecast seems to have changed a bit once again during this afternoon.

Whilst daytime temperatures won't be unusually high for the time of year, the heat and associated humidity in England looks like it may last into Wednesday (and perhaps even Thursday in the south east and East Anglia):

Longer warmth from the south could mean 'peak heat' on Wednesday instead of Tuesday - which could make 30 Celsius more likely than before.

Assuming the forecast does not change again ...

. . or indeed which forecast you use.

MetO forecast for Penzance, as at 17:15 today.

Current Forecast

The trial forecast is, overall, far more accurate for temperature as far as Penzance is concerned. The current one consistently understates the temperature range and sticks closer to the SST (day & night).

No rain drops.

Political discussion might indeed be discouraged but the politicians seem to be generating lots of HOT AIR.
