An unsettled and wet month with temperatures slightly above average.  Mid month saw storm Claudia which provided 59.7 mm of precipitation over a 40 hour period and heralded a change of type from very mild to rather cold with frosts.  A brief fall of snow on the morning of the 19th which didn't lie for long.  Some freezing fog and icy roads during the final week, followed by a brief milder interlude.
