Some classic big clean surf conditions, with basically no wind over Cornwall, and plenty of activity in the wester half of the N Atlantic. The swell's had plenty of time to clean up before it gets here.
Plenty of surfers in before the lifeguards come on duty and decide the conditions are a bit iffy - which they are. It'll be a very busy day for the lifeguards on the north coast today, with temperature >20C, unbroken sunshine, big surf and almost certainly some rip currents. Not rip tides, BBC spotlight please note. Tides are on a rather larger scale! (Still, not as bad as saying gale force gusts)
