A mild and breezy month with average rainfall.  No air frost.  Windy at times with a gale on the 7th.  Two anticyclonic spells - one in the second week, and one across Christmas that resulted in persistent fog.  A breezy end to the month.  The majority of precipitation occurred in the first 18 days, with the last third of the month much drier.  Very little frost, with a complete absence of air frost.
