I recall an early interest when I was perhaps six or seven years old, I was confused as to why at the start of "Summer" (time) it wasn't suddenly a lot warmer. But I am still confused why it is often called "Daylight Saving", an oxymoron if ever there was one - it doesn't save a millisecond of daylight ..... ah well.
Anyway, as always on the first Sunday of BST /DST it is cold. The wind chill was quite horrendous. This small snow shower was just the first of many. They were a lot bigger.
Seen from Nairn looking towards the Black Isle - which of course, isn't an island but I suppose the "Black Peninsular" wouldn't have quite the same ring about it. And what's with the "Black" bit? Many of its residents must sense a degree of prejudice. On the far side of the Black Isle (across the Cromarty Firth) is the industrial complex of Nigg Bay. I wonder what the workers there are called...?
