Unbroken sunshine and a gentle breeze at Sennen this moring and a big powerful swell. Looked lovely. Lifeguards did open the beach, but were keeping a very close eye on things.

Yes, what a stunner. Makes up a little for all that rain.

Up to 18.7°C here and hardly a breath of wind before a slight sea breeze sprung up. The sun felt strong and at one point I had to seek shade until the breeze came.

I was tempted to head for the beach for what may be the last swim of the year but ended up falling asleep in the sunshine.

Sea temperature at 15.6°C in Lyme Bay. Wetsuit probably required now though I did go for a swim last Saturday without one when the sea temperature was 15.4°C.

You wouldn't be swimming in the sea at Sennen today (though I went in just over a week ago when it was still, sunny at only 14c - thought it felt warmer.)

Those waves were really powerful, the lifeguard in the picture persuaded them to get out. Jut to the right of the yellow recue board you can see 2 bodyboarders chest deep with a wall of white water bearing down. They disappeared for a few seconds and seemed to be happy to abandon things afterwards. I chose that pic as they gave scale to waves.

This highly zoomed and rather pixelated photo shows some very large waves on the reef off Aire Point (the far side of Gwynver)

Tomorrow doesn't look too bad here, nothing like the recent storm with no name which resulted in no trains anywhere in Cornwall.
