We had a strange thunderless thunderstorm last night 0230 to 0330. Not only was it thunderless it was rainless. Just continuous lightning. All of it within cloud, and possibily cloud to cloud.
I assume all the cells were passing us by, but it did not look that way on the radar images which were extremely colourful.
Did anywhere in Devon or Cornwall get any high rainfall totals? And were there any ground strikes?

Have a look at this feature on the Blitzortung site. You can produce your own analysis from their archived data for anywhere in the world including the English channel.

That' s good Bruce but I'm not sure it separates CG from IC like the Isle of Wight site does.
