It's already fairly windy across Denmark at the moment, but it's likely to get even windier and perhaps stormy overnight as low Herwart (I kid you not) scuttles southeastward down the Skagerak overnight.

I notice that (so far) there are no strong wind warnings out for the far northeast of Scotland from the Met Office for the overnight period.
I just wonder how windy it has to get before they see one issued?

Storm Herwart is causing serious disruption in Germany.
Train service has been suspended in much of northern and central Germany because of the danger from fallen trees.
In Hamburg, the River Elbe has overflowed its banks and roads in the area near the river are under water.
