As anticipated a sudden stratospheric warming has happened throwing the dynamics up there into disarray.
What it will mean for us at the surface is uncertain atm.
A nasty spelly of easterlies in 2 to 3 weeks time?
Maybe, but the interactions between stratosphere and troposphere are not well understood and models are unreliable at that time period ahead.
Watch this space as they say.
