Haar affecting much of the east coast south to Great Yarmouth as it did yesterday. Vale of York filled with fog and low stratus as is the whole of Lincolnshire. Parts of the North Yorkshire moors still standing clear above it.

I noticed this image on Twitter from yesterday courtesy of Eumetsat (click to enlarge):-

The British public, through the Met Office subsidise Eumetsat, but we never see quality satellite images like this on the Met Office site - oh dear, how sad, never mind.

I see though back home in the hills NW of Dundee we had 10 hours of sunshine and it reached 20C yesterday. Very pleasant. But not as pleasant as Greece

Trevor

I notice that by 12 UTC most of the stratus had burnt back to the coast in most of England, but it was still hanging on over NE lincolnshire, Fife and Tayside!

Haar since early yesterday. No sunshine and unrelenting gloomy greyness yesterday and this morning with a 24h Tmax of 13.2C at 09 today. Last 30 minutes the sun has appeared and the temperature has  soared to 17.3C. Horizontal visibility still poor.
